SIG/SITG — Skin-In-The-Game
デフォルト・ウォーターフォールにおいて、清算参加者からのデフォルト基金を使う前に、CCP自身がまず負担する自己資本部分。CCPのリスク管理インセンティブを市場参加者とアラインさせる役割を持ち、「どれだけSkinを入れているか」が規制・参加者から注目される。
The portion of the CCP’s own capital that is consumed in the default waterfall before the default fund contributions of clearing participants are used. It serves to align the CCP’s risk management incentives with those of market participants, and “how much skin” a CCP puts in attracts close attention from regulators and participants.
清算機関が自らの資金をデフォルト・ウォーターフォールに差し出す部分です。参加者の拠出より先に、あるいは参加者拠出の途中に置かれ、清算機関が自分の損失としてリスクを負うことでリスク管理の誘因を揃える仕組みとされます。全額担保型の清算機関では、そもそも参加者の相互化された拠出が薄いため、この層の意味も変わってきます。
